The best Christmas tree in half a century lit in Port Chester’s Liberty Square

Mayor Luis Marino, Port Chester Trustees Joan Grangenois-Thomas, Phil Dorazio, John Allen and Juliana Alzate welcome attendees to the lighting of the Christmas tree in Liberty Square on Thursday, Dec. 1. Santa Claus watches over the entire event. Dorazio dubbed it “the best tree in 52 years” and Marino said: “I have never seen anything like that.”
Once the tree is lit, people take photos of the 26-foot evergreen, which was donated by Rosa Cajamarca and Fernando Uyaguar of 9 Tower Hill Dr.
