Happiness is a scoop of chocolate
July 7, 2022 at 3:27 a.m.
Taking his time to savor the sweet, Colton Bailey, 3, delicately digs into a cup of chocolate ice cream, cooling off after a hot day on Friday, July 1. The Rye Brook resident is attending the first Village-sponsored Free Ice Cream Friday of the summer, a tradition that will continue at Pine Ridge Park throughout July.
Children take full advantage of the bouncy house complete with an inflatable basketball hoop inside that the Village of Rye Brook set up in Pine Ridge Park.
Village Administrator Christopher Bradbury serves up a cup of red, white and blue ice cream—a flavor in celebration of the July 4th holiday weekend—to 4-year-old Abby Jakowsky. The Heirloom Lane resident happily accepts.
True love means sharing sweet treats. Rye Brook resident Jenna Laskin holds the cup while her 4-year-old daughter Blake helps herself to a big spoonful of vanilla.
Did you know unicorns like ice cream, too? Taking her ice cream time seriously, 2-year-old Rye Brook resident Tallulah Bradford clutches her cap of chocolate and sprinkles.
School may be out for the summer, but real friendships surpass the bounds of the classroom. Ridge Street Elementary School incoming second-graders Jesse Esterow (left), Madden Moss, Aiden Leon and Noah Hashimoto pose for a photo as they snack on an array of ice cream flavors.
