Dancing into 2023
January 5, 2023 at 5:18 a.m.
Young love isn’t bound by age. Embracing their 4-year relationship, Port Chester couple Dolores Anselmo, a 78-year-old resident of the Regent Street Senior Apartments, and Leon Russell, a 72-year-old Westchester Avenue resident, romantically dance to Frank Sinatra hits played by DJ Anthony Radice at the Rye Brook Senior Center’s New Year’s party on Tuesday, Jan. 3.
Peggyann Munnick (front), of Port Chester, and Avon Circle resident Denise Borsari have a blast while getting funky and dancing to the “Macarena.”
Amping up the energy, Rye Brook Senior Center Director Liz Rotfeld, a Port Chester resident, leads a table of partygoers through “YMCA” choreography.
At 91 years old, Avon Circle resident Gloria Mangiamele cha-chas as she leads a growing conga line around the Rye Brook Senior Center dining room.
George and Anita Penchina don’t dance anymore, though they assured they certainly used to. The Rye Brook residents, who have been members of the senior center for a long time, get comfortable at the New Year’s party and enjoy the classic tunes.
