Shake Shack opens in Port Chester—at last!
September 26, 2024 at 12:27 a.m.
A big group of local elected officials, Port Chester Village Manager Stuart Rabin, Port Chester-Rye Brook-Rye Town Chamber of Commerce members, Bruce Jackson from Feeding Westchester and Shake Shack personnel gather for the ribbon cutting to open the long-awaited restaurant serving fancy burgers, fries, milkshakes and more in the Gateway Shopping Center on Wednesday, Sept. 25. This Port Chester location was first contemplated four years ago, said Emma Greene, Shake Shack’s area director for Westchester. “I’m very confident this is the right time.”

Keiona Cherry, general manager of Shake Shack’s Port Chester location, cuts the ribbon. All day long on opening day, the company donated $1 from every sandwich sold to Feeding Westchester as part of their mission of standing for something good by partnering with local charities. They also distributed Shake Shack tote bags to the first 100 customers.

While it’s presently the only restaurant in the Gateway Shopping Center, other vendors with healthy food options are being considered.
