As the softball season comes to an end, this year’s Blind Brook varsity team has a bright future to look forward to. Although this season did not turn out as hoped, the young team goes into next year with a continuing momentum and a load of heart.
Lights, camera, action! With the high school lobby decorated with a red carpet and the walls lined with headshots, the Blind Brook community gathered, dressed to the nines, at the theater on Friday, Apr. 26 for the second annual Honors Shapers of the World Night at the Oscars.
Saying hello to spring and goodbye to winter means one thing: it is finally that time of year when we get to hear the glorious sound of a bat making contact with a softball, sending it soaring across the field.
After a whirlwind season, the year came to a close for Blind Brook’s girls’ basketball team with a playoff loss to Westlake. The team—filled with heart and passion for the sport–exited the court for the final time this season with a 13-8 record and plenty to look back on.
Blind Brook girls’ basketball is rolling into the postseason with two things on their minds: victory and redemption. The team—with a final record of 13-7–rounded out the regular season exactly how they now hope to move into playoffs, with a heartbreaking Homecoming loss against Croton-Harmon paralleling two single-digit losses to Westlake.
Lady Trojans basketball had a packed week of ups and downs as they near the end of the regular season. Despite tough losses to Westlake and Pearl River, the team managed to round out the week with an even record, thanks to two dominant wins against Valhalla and Rye Neck, each of which showed the potential they have as a group.
One may have looked at the Blind Brook student section on Friday, Jan. 26 and questioned whether they were at a basketball game or on the slopes. With fans decked out in ski gear and packing the stands, the two varsity Trojan basketball teams showed out for their most anticipated regular season games of the year: Winter Homecoming.
Halfway through the regular season, Blind Brook’s girls’ basketball team still looks like a top contender for Class B Section 1 champions. Following an undefeated power surge to start the season, the Trojans have begun to level off; however, they still linger at the top of the league standings with an 8-3 record.
It is easy to call any high school team great for the sake of an article. Blind Brook’s girls’ basketball team, however, makes this not an exaggeration, but a reality.
