An asset protection associate for the Stop & Shop on Waterfront Place called Port Chester police on Sunday, Sept. 10, to report an alleged larceny in progress by a repeat offender.
When officers arrived on scene at 12:59 p.m., employees were returning the $120 worth of merchandise back to the store. The employee told the cop that Elaine Hall, a homeless woman, had allegedly attempted to leave the store without paying for laundry items. Hall had previously been issued a no trespass order, which she had allegedly gone against by entering the store.
Officers arrested the 54-year-old woman, who was charged with third degree burglary, a felony.
