A 35-year-old man was arrested by Port Chester police officers after he allegedly stole someone’s wallet on July 21.

The victim reported they’d been walking down Purdy Avenue when Francis Pride approached them to ask for money at 4:33 a.m. As they opened their wallet to hand Pride $4, he demanded the victim hand over the entire pouch, the police say.

According to the police report, the victim handed the wallet to Pride due to fear for their life. Pride then rode off on an electric bike.

The 16 West St. resident was identified through nearby security footage as the alleged culprit and was arrested on July 28.

Pride was charged with robbery in the third degree, a felony.
