Last week, three out-of-towners were arrested for assault and shoplifting.

*Port Chester police officers reported to El Palacio de Maria at 150 N. Main St. on Sunday, Dec. 12, after receiving reports about a fight inside the bar.

When they arrived, they found John Vergara Torres injured outside. He was allegedly involved in the incident but claimed to have been defending a friend of his.

An ambulance was called to triage his bloody hands and head. However, employees allegedly told officers the 28-year-old incited the brawl and struck a waiter with a glass bottle.

Security footage allegedly revealed Vergara Torres partook in the large fight and the police arrested him at White Plains Hospital, where he was being treated.

The Greenwich, Conn., resident was charged with assault in the third degree, a misdemeanor, and assault in the second degree, a felony.

*An employee of the Walgreens at 107 N. Main St. called Port Chester police officers after they allegedly saw two men exit the store without paying for various products on Sunday, Dec. 15.

According to the police report, the worker was in the parking lot when he saw Dan Saldana, 39, and David Nunez Barraza, 53, walking through the front door with various razors and earrings without paying for them.

According to the police report, the employee recognized Saldana, of Byram, Conn., and Nunez Barraza, a homeless man, as men who had previously shoplifted.

Officers found the men across the street and arrested them at 12:46 p.m. Both men were charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor.
