Port Chester police were dispatched to the Stop & Shop at 25 Waterfront Pl. after an employee allegedly saw a homeless man steal a pack of beer on Monday, Dec. 9.

The worker alleged José Garcia-Moreno walked into the store and grabbed a 12-pack of Budweiser before leaving the store without paying.

When confronted by an employee, the 45-year-old allegedly dropped the beer and left the area. Police claim they spotted Garcia-Moreno walking on South Main Street and arrested him at 4:40 p.m.

He was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor.
