A resident of 18 Highview Ave. was arrested by Rye Brook police officers on Thursday, Feb. 1, for allegedly operating a vehicle with a driver’s license that had been suspended in 2022.

According to Police Lieutenant J. Arnold, an officer patrolling Bowman Avenue allegedly suspected José Carias Gonzalez of driving a vehicle that had a mechanical problem. A routine background check during the traffic stop allegedly revealed the 44-year-old’s license had been suspended in 2022 for a matter relating to an online permit test.

Gonzales was arrested at 4:27 p.m. and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, a misdemeanor.
