The Blind Brook Trojans have completed tryouts for the 2024 season and have finalized the roster, pitching rotation and batting order. There have been tons of work in preparation for the Trojans to kick off their season at North Salem on Tuesday, Mar. 26. Their home schedule does not start until Monday, Apr. 1. However, some unusual circumstances regarding their home field have prevented the Trojans from playing on the Blind Brook campus this season.

Both of Blind Brook’s home fields failed to pass inspection tests, meaning that completely new turf fields are required for play to return to Blind Brook, forcing the Trojans to relocate, scrambling to find a home field.

“Currently we are practicing at Ridge Street Elementary School which is newly renovated and for now that has become our home. As of now it looks like we'll play our home games at Rec Park in Port Chester, possibly practicing there as well,” stated Trojans head coach Adam Massi. “We have adapted nicely to our new field during this difficult time. The players understand that we have a job to do and that is to go out there and win games. We have had discussions that there is a lot going on outside around us, but the focus needs to be on the things that we can control. We need to stay strong and together to give the best possible experience for our student athletes, especially our seniors who are in the final year.”

Massi said their opening game was against a good North Salem baseball team.

The Trojans have found a groove at their new home in Rec Park, and they have engaged in cutoff preparation, infield/outfield prep, rundowns drills, and live at bats in preparation for game-like circumstances on the field. They have unfinished business after last year, winning the league championship but falling short to Croton-Harmon in the section semifinals. They finished with a 16-4 regular season record, almost flawless with great hitting and even better pitching.

The pitching rotation is looking strong this year, featuring senior Andrew Rogovic, who is committed to pitch for the Northeastern University Huskies next year. He is the Blind Brook ace who has been a dominant force for years now. Sophomore Asher Toll is another big name in the pitching rotation who had a successful year on varsity as a freshman and looks to build on that achievement this year.

The Trojans have a lot to look forward to and tons of opportunities this season. Following their Mar. 26 opener at North Salem, they will play another away game at Pawling on Thursday, Mar. 28 at 4:30 p.m. and finally return to Rec Park for a “home game” against Putnam Valley on Monday, Apr. 1 at 11 a.m.
