An employee of the New Era Fashion store at 107 Westchester Ave. called Port Chester police on Tuesday, Apr. 30, to request help in removing a drunk man from the building.

When officers arrived at the scene, they observed several shelves and counters had been knocked down, according to the police report.

The employee claimed Cesar Diaz entered the store drunk at 4:37 p.m., stumbling and knocking over merchandise. According to the police report, the 38-year-old asked the employee if they wanted to fight when asked to leave the premises.

The 94 Purdy Ave. resident was charged with criminal tampering in the third degree, a misdemeanor.
