Port Chester police officers reported to South Main Street to respond to a car accident on Sunday, Nov. 24.
One of the drivers alleged Juan Naula Vizhco rear-ended their car while they were stopped at a traffic light near Boston Post Road before he attempted to flee on foot at 6:40 p.m.
According to the police report, Naula Vizhco showed signs of intoxication, displaying bloodshot eyes and slurring his words.
Officers conducted standardized field sobriety tests, which the 28-year-old allegedly failed.
The 161 Grace Church St. resident allegedly refused to take a breath test and was arrested.
A routine background check allegedly revealed Naula Vizhco had his driving privileges suspended earlier this year. Police claim to have found a half-empty bottle of Modelo in the center console.
He was charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, both misdemeanors. He also received infractions for refusing to take a breath test and drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle.
