A Port Chester police officer was dispatched to the Marshalls at 20 Waterfront Pl. after receiving reports of a thwarted shoplifter on Monday, Sept. 23.

When officers arrived at the scene at 3:09 p.m., the store’s loss prevention specialist had stopped the alleged thief, Victor Mollino, outside of the store. According to the police report, the Mount Vernon resident was seen using pliers to cut tags from clothes before discreetly moving the $160 worth of clothes past all points of sale.

He was stopped by employees until the arrival of officers, who allegedly found a brass knuckled-type knife on his left hip with the aforementioned pliers.

Mollino was charged with petit larceny, criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree and possession of burglary tools, all misdemeanors.
