Punch and run

A 32 Merritt St. resident was arrested after he allegedly punched a stranger in the face on Wednesday, Oct. 9.
Port Chester police officers were called to the MTA parking lot on Lower King Street at 4:50 p.m. after receiving a call about the incident. They met with the victim, who claimed a man walked up to him, struck him and then left the scene.
The victim was transported to Greenwich Hospital for his injuries.
Police claim that while searching the area, José Castillo Acevedo approached them and admitted to being the attacker.
The 24-year-old was charged with assault in the third degree, a misdemeanor.
