Commuters were forced to reroute after a three-car accident shut down the section of King Street between the Blind Brook High School entrance and Hillandale Road on Wednesday, Oct. 23.

According to Rye Brook Police Lieutenant J. Arnold, the crash occurred near the vicinity of Nedley Lane in Connecticut. It resulted in four injuries and a snapped telephone pole.

Arnold said the department started receiving calls at 10:18 a.m. Rye Brook, Port Chester and Greenwich fire departments, police departments and EMS teams reported to the scene soon thereafter.

The four people involved in the collision were transported to the Westchester Medical Center, Greenwich Hospital and Stamford Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

King Street was reopened at 4:48 a.m. the next day—18 and a half hours later—after investigators cleared the area for cleanup, allowing Con Edison to replace the telephone pole.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
