Day drinking turns violent

Reports of a fight brought Port Chester police officers to the corner of New Broad and East Willim streets on Saturday, Aug. 31.

When they arrived at 3:57 p.m., they were met with a man who alleged he had been assaulted. According to the police report, he had been drinking with his friend, Edwin Marroquin Rivera, and got into an argument that turned physical, leaving him with cuts on his lips and forehead.

The victim was transported to Greenwich Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

The 41-year-old suspect was found at the Civil War Monument Park around the corner, near the Boston Post Road. Marroquin Rivera allegedly confirmed a fight occurred and was arrested.

The 130 Oak St. resident was charged with assault in the third degree, a misdemeanor.
