Reports of a man threatening someone with a knife brought the Port Chester police to a restaurant on Grace Church Street on Sunday, Sept. 1.
When officers arrived at 9:33 p.m., they met with the victim, who claimed to have asked Esvin Gregorio Cuca to leave the eatery due to his coming in intoxicated. Cuca allegedly waited outside for the victim to leave and chased them down the street with a 12-inch machete after threatening to kill them. He then fled the area.
Officers found the 32-year-old on Central Avenue after a brief search, though they were unable to locate the weapon reportedly used. The victim later confirmed him as the attacker.
The 17 Central Ave. resident was arrested and charged with menacing in the second degree, a misdemeanor.
