The 2024 fall sports have officially begun. Arguably volleyball has been the most successful fall sport in the past few years at Blind Brook going back-to-back in the section finals. The Blind Brook girls’ volleyball team ended their season on a low note last year after they returned to section finals but did not win. They are looking to make it a third year in the section finals and finish differently than last year.
In their home opener on Monday, Sept. 9, the Blind Brook Trojans won 3-0 against league team Westlake. The first set score was 25-13, the next was 25-17 and the last set was won by the Lady Trojans 25-9. Fernanda Julian had 25 assists in the game, Oriah Rosenfeld had 14 kills and five digs, Ella Rosenfeld had eight kills and six digs. Maria Pereyra had five digs, Madeline Hirsch had four kills and three blocks and Georgie Haas had four aces and five digs.
The Trojans started off the season strong with this league win and are hoping for many more to come in their upcoming games on Wednesday, Sept. 11 versus North Salem and Friday, Sept. 13 at home against Croton-Harmon at 4:30 p.m. They are also competing in a tournament on Saturday, Sept. 14 at Ossining High School starting at 8 a.m. which is a good way to play some schools they may not typically play. Next Tuesday, Sept. 17 they have another home game versus Albertus Magnus followed by an away contest against Tuckahoe on Thursday, Sept. 19 and a home game Friday, Sept. 20 versus Rye, all at 4:30 p.m.
