Two out-of-towners charged

Last week, two out-of-towners were arrested for shoplifting and grand larceny.

*Reports of a theft at the 431 Boston Post Rd. Kohl’s saw a response from Port Chester police officers on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

There, an employee provided them with a description of a man who allegedly left the store with $550 worth of clothes at 8:10 p.m. While searching the area, officers found Bronx resident Thomas Council, who allegedly matched the description, near South Regent Street.

The 55-year-old was detained, and an employee confirmed him as the alleged thief. According to the police report, officers found the stolen items in his backpack.

He was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor.

*A resident of the Bronx was arrested by Port Chester police officers on Friday, Sept. 20, after allegedly stealing $1,800 worth of flower racks from the Costco at 1 Westchester Ave.

According to the police report, officers were notified by the Real Time Crime Center of a box truck that had been operated by Bigelacio Coleman after he stole forklifts in Elmsford had entered the Village at 3:56 p.m.

While searching the area, members of an FBI task force allegedly spotted the vehicle in the Costco loading bay as the 48-year-old was placing eight flower transport racks, each valued at $225, into it. He was detained by the FBI until Village officers arrived to arrest him.

Coleman was charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree, a felony.
