Governor Andrew Cuomo announced on Monday, Apr. 6, New York schools will remain closed until at least Apr. 29 as the fight to slow the rapid spread of COVID-19 continues.
The New York Lottery announced this past Sunday, Mar. 29, one second-prize ticket for the Mar. 28 Powerball drawing was sold in Port Chester. The ticket is worth a guaranteed $1 million.
With cases of novel coronavirus continuing to rise in Westchester, the Village of Rye Brook reported 16 new cases since last week. There is a confirmed total of at least 17 residents who have contracted the virus.
Since Thursday, Mar. 19—when the first three COVID-19 cases were announced in the Village of Port Chester—48 more cases have been confirmed, bringing the total number within the Village to 51 as of Wednesday, Mar. 25.
