Nina Jones of Port Chester channels the “Songbird of the South” by breaking out into Dottie Peoples’ song during the Black History Month Celebration at Bethesda Baptist Church on Saturday, Feb. 24. She, along with 13 other friends and members of the 136 E. William St. church, celebrated the accomplishments of African Americans by portraying the historic figures in front of the congregation.
