Ridge Street Elementary School fifth-grader Emily Rosen uses spray paint to fill in a bluebird on a new mural in the school’s courtyard on May 21. With guidance through the school’s Artist in Residency program, the entire fifth-grade class left their mark on the building while learning about the tact and style of street art.

Every single fifth-grader at Ridge Street Elementary School was caught red-handed, shaking up cans, adjusting their tips and using spray paint to cover one of the bleak, gray walls in the building’s courtyard with colorful tags.
