Port Chester Teachers Association President Chris Kazim makes his closing remarks from the foot of the high school’s flagpole, braving the elements on a stormy day after rally attendees walked through the school at the March on the 6th to Fix Tier 6 rally on Wednesday, Mar. 6. Kazim, who organized the march, said the event was designed to draw attention to inequities in the tiered New York State retirement systems for public employees.

Tucked away in a backroom near the Port Chester High School auditorium, Chris Kazim walked through his office, pointing out the newly added decorations adorning the walls. “These are the signs that survived,” the Port Chester Teachers Association (PCTA) president said. “I wanted to keep them all, but only the laminated ones made it.”
