School district takes first step in replacing shuttered sports fields

It’s been two months since the sudden shutdown of both the multipurpose and baseball fields at Blind Brook High School startled the community, which came as a necessary action after both failed impact tests deeming them unsafe for use in March. On May 23, the Board of Education met in a special meeting to unanimously approve awarding the renovation project to the LandTek Group, Inc. for a $937,900 artificial turf field.
